the collision of galaxies, the expiration of stars, the bloom of supernovae.
in the midst of galactic formation,
we were already fated to intervene.
stretches of light years will always lead me to you.
the threads of our woven fate are pulled taut across history
and we are elegantly tangled,
jumbled and mashed in a picturesque anarchy.
we are ancient beings in youthful, human husks.
death parts us, rebirth unites us.
i was built to stumble before your disarming visage.
the husky treble of your voice was meant to still my breath in the pockets of my lungs.

i've been sleeping strange.
there, in the supposed comfort of worn-out blankets,
stuffed icons of far-off memories, and sinking pillows.
with palms upturned and marred with half-moon dents of frustration.
eyes wide-open to stretches of vast darkness.
ears tuned to hear the beating of Father Time's heart.
my own sinks into the caverns of my ribcage,
beats synchronizing with an unheard melody.
demons crawl beneath my skin,
their success burning into my veins.
atrocities, flaws, regrets, burdens
tumble, toss, and turn in the care of my conscience.
silhouettes of my respective ghosts dance above me,
